About

Bad Goblin Games was founded in 2018 with the goal of bringing you a variety of intriguing and exciting board, card, and miniature games.

We started Bad Goblin Games because we wanted to share our ideas with you. We’ve been playing games together for over 25 years – board games, card games, role-playing games, war games, etc.  And although there are many terrific games on our shelves from a variety of publishers, we believe there are still more to be found and we want to help find those games and bring them to your table.

Bad Goblin Games is a member of Board Game Geek and the Indie Game Alliance. We believe in helping the game community grow by communicating with other gamers around the world.

The Bad Goblin Games Horde

Michael Love

+2 History

Michael began gaming around 1990 after discovering miniatures in the local comic book shop. Having no idea what to do with them, he and some friends created their own “war game” drawing on large cuts of paper to create a game surface. In the next few years he was introduced to D&D, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Gamma World, and Tunnels & Trolls, and has been gaming since.

One of Michael’s favorite gaming moments occurred many years ago while playing a “anything goes” game of Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd edition. His small unit of dwarf crossbows, having just had all of their weapons and armor destroyed by a rust spell, leapt over a fence, charged a chaos lord and beat him into submission.

Brian Peak

"Nairb"

+2 Wisdom

Brian has been playing games so long that he is now training a second generation of minions (some people call them grandchildren) to play. From Blue Box to 5E and everything in between, Brian has played it. He has more games and books on his shelves than most stores. Some of his favorites are; Munchkin, Shadows Over Camelot, Settlers of Catan, and any version of Zombicide.

Special Powers: Trained in the dark arts of web design. He keeps powerful magics like HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL in his bag of holding. He is also a skilled businessman and owns a pool cleaning service as well as a web design company.

Michael Stoneburner

"Burner of Stones"

+2 Knowledge (obscure 80's facts)

Stoneburner is one of the grognards of the group. He discovered roleplaying games in 1981 and has been playing ever since. When he isn’t playing games, he collects and studies other rules systems.

Special Powers: Considered a statistical aberration that consistently rolls “1’s”, regardless of how many sides the dice has or how many dice are rolled. This phenomenon is called a “Stoneburner”. Anytime all “1’s” are rolled you can exclaim, “Oh crap, I just Stoneburnered!” He holds the record of rolling snake eyes three times in a row, a 1/46656 chance.

Brad Wasson

+2 Knowledge (useless information)

Brad began gaming in the early 1980’s with his brothers.  His first game was AD&D which ended abruptly with the grisly demise of his character who had the unfortunate luck to be stepped on by a large inattentive dragon.  From then on he was hooked.  He has played everything from GURPS to 5e. Always looking for more, he has developed many systems for his various gaming groups to use, from d6, d20, or d100 (including his infamous “Critical Success/Failure” table which includes 100 different critical success events and 100 different critical failure events).  He has even developed a “no rules” system where the only rules are what the players can convince the game master to use at the time they are needed.

Special Powers: Brad has the unbelievable luck of either consistently being the only survivor of potential TPKs or being on the end of instant death events, such as the afore mentioned red dragon.
